Learn embroidery from a textile artist as Needlework Designer Mariana Barran Goodall is hosting her Zoom Signature Mexican Embroidery class
During this workshop, you will learn the history and technique of the most popular Mexican stitches.
Your sampler for this class will be 4 cocktail napkins with your choice of Mexican Design’s sketched by Mariana in transfer paper. Please sign up by April 30th so we can ship all materials to your home! Class will be 5 de Mayo 6:00 - 7:30 PM Houston Time!
In this session you’ll learn:
- techniques of Hand Embroidered
- how to prep your embroidery hoop for DIY magic
- the basics of selecting the perfect thread
- how to start and end your embroidery project
- how to create essential embroidery stitches such as satin stitch, Otomi stitch, and steam stitch
Class will be conducted in ENGLISH
Everything you will need for the class will be available in your kit which is 4 pieces of gingham cloth, 4 colors of thread, transfer papers, needles and hoop! Zoom sign up information will be email to you.
Needlework Designer Mariana Barran Goodall's work combines a modern aesthetic with traditional textile and needlework techniques. The artist, a Mexican designer, is passionate about preserving old world stitching methods. This allows her to work through heritage textiles to reveal new insights in a very simple matter. She believes in the warmth and universal language that comes from a piece of art made completely by hand.
