What is your position at Hibiscus Linens?
Haha-Head of Hankies! Which really means I have the longest experience with custom orders.
We always joke that we become “Hankie Nation” during wedding season with the amount of hankies we’re stitching. Can you walk us through the process of designing a custom hankie from inquiry to finished product?
Hankie Nation, indeed! Hankies are so very special. For the process…
Are there any limitations to what a client can request on a custom hankie? (how many words/lines, colors, type of stitch, intricacy of design)
We can include virtually anything on a hankie. The biggest limitation is usually budget. Pricing depends on the hours it takes to stitch each hankie. The more intricate the design, the longer it takes to stitch. We are also very careful to not “overpower” the hankie. Each hankie is a meaningful work of art. Their beauty lies in their elegance and simplicity.
What is your favorite custom hankie you’ve ever stitched?
Oh, Gosh! They are like my babies. How am I to choose just one?!
We would love to work with you to create the most special details of your wedding! You can find the custom hankie listing here or email us at info@hibiscuslinens.com to get started.
We also have a number of one-of-a-kind ready to ship hankies here if you're in a time crunch!

“Colors for Spring/Summer 2023 are recalibrated for the new era we are entering. Blending escapism with reality, wholesomeness, and joy, we embrace the exploration of extreme contrast in mood and color" said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “There is utility and basic-ness to this season’s color story, while at the same time, there is an uplifting vital sense of play that comes through.”

Mariana works to curate a revolving collective of creatives, artists, designers, and women-owned small businesses so that every time you step into the pop-up you are met with a new and exciting shopping experience…all with one thing in common: a love of pretty things and an appreciation of those who make them.
If you are interested in joining our pop-up experience, please email loveprettythings@hibiscuslinens.com.
This Spring's Round Top show at Blue Hills was some of the most fun we've had yet. We hosted the largest number of brands yet, over 25 incredible entrepreneurs, rotating in and out, shuffling around the tent, and ensuring that every day you could come back and find something completely new and different- beauty in the chaos! All of the women-owned small businesses become a close-knit community, helping each other sell one another's products, making purchases themselves, grabbing lunch and coffee for each other, and making the entire experience of stepping into the tent happy, fun, and supportive for anyone who comes to shop with us! You can truly feel that the love and support for one another is the glue that keeps everyone together during the fun, but long, days of Round Top.
Because of this, it makes coming in as a shopper the most fun and gratifying experience. You get to pop champagne and listen to Taylor Swift with brands you know and love, while also discovering new small businesses and learning about their hand-crafted goods and the stories that inspired them to create. It really is an experience like no other, getting up close and personal with the people behind the Instagrams and the websites and getting to bring home handmade treasures you can't find anywhere else...all while supporting small businesses!
With that being said, I would like to introduce you to the wonderful small businesses that were able to join us in the Hibiscus Linens Love Pretty Things Pop-up Tent this spring:

]]>This year Hibiscus Linens had the pleasure of joining small businesses Slightly East and Sarah Bray Bermuda for a three day pop-up at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky just in time for the annual Kentucky Derby. The Stitzel-Weller Distillery, original home of Pappy Van Winkle, now serves as home to bourbon brands Blade and Bow, I.W. Harper, and Bulleit, and offers all day tastings and tours of the grounds and distilling process. The distillery is also home to the second ever Garden & Gun Club, a southern staple celebrating refined food, drink, and hospitality.
We were lucky enough to set up shop at the entrance of the Garden & Gun Club, with Slightly East's stunning derby silk bow ties and pocket squares, Sarah Bray Bermuda's picture perfect derby hats with interchangeable ribbons, and, of course, our derby hand embroidered linens for all the visiting derby-goers.
We were also so honored to be a part of the 5th Annual Stitzel-Weller Affair hosted by the Garden & Gun Club and Blade and Bow whiskey, with our black fringe dinner napkins at the seat of every guest. We spent the night listening to live music on the lawn of the distillery, trying signature bourbon cocktails from the Blade and Bow horse trailer, and dining al fresco on a delicious meal from Garden & Gun Club's executive chef. It was truly a night of celebrating southern hospitality and a century of horse racing traditions that we hope to be a part of over and over again!

]]>As we try to navigate this funky times, it refreshes our spirit to find beauty and happy and we add it to our everyday. We must not take for granted the beautiful things that are all around us in nature. Take these little pieces of scavenged greenery, for example-- they were cut from an ordinary bush behind the shop, but just look at the way they add vibrant color and new life to their surroundings. All you need is a mini vase or two, like these from our sister store Amparo Fine Living, and a couple twigs from your own backyard. Nothing fancy at all! We think you will be pleasantly surprised to find that such a small detail has the power to lift your spirits and increase the positive energy of your space. Go and enjoy the little things in life, and encourage others to do the same!
With love,

Some questions I get asked are:
1. This is my first time what materials do I need? We have created a "Starter Kit" with all my favorite stitching things you can get it here!
2. Love the stitch along and want to give back! What about a coffee? We have joined the buy me a coffee program. This way you can support our creative juices whenever you feel like it. You can buy me a coffee here!
3. What type of doodles will be covered in the next 364 days? Honestly I dont know, the goal is to create a little stitched doodle journal and people are commenting daily what they will like to see, so I will be stitching things that speak to me that day or grab an idea from peoples comments.

A bridal handkerchief can be personalized into a cherished keepsake with hand embroidery of the couples wedding date or monogram. A personalized hankie gifted from a mother to her bridal daughter is a cherished keepsake that will last long after your wedding ceremony. Years after your wedding as you reach for your hankie you will remember the day you received it. To some of our friends, our hankies become family heirlooms and are passed from mom to bride on their wedding day. For other customers, their bridal hankie is a tradition and a right of passage that they will use in their second line procession at their wedding reception.
As an accessory, a bridal handkerchief also creates a great photo opportunity that we must mention. In addition to providing handkerchiefs to our bridal clients, wedding photographers frequently feature our handkerchiefs in photo shoots and bridal portraits to create unique perspectives. Some of our favorite bridal images have been with the handkerchief nestled atop a family bible or among the ring sets. As you make your wedding list to-do’s we hope that we’ve inspired you to add a bridal hankie to your list. We are always happy to answer questions about hankies.
